Steering Committee
- approximately 50 active members that do the behind the scenes work
- has been the main working group since spring of 2007
- governing body that makes final decisions on strategy and implementation
- all subcommittee and working group members are welcome to attend meetings
- biweekly Tuesday meetings with an average attendance of 20 members

Working Groups

Steering Committee
- Composed of Committee and subcommittee chairs
- serves to communicate and facilitate activities among numerous Obama groups in DC

Virginia Strategy Committee
- develops coherent effort to engage Virginia voters
- coordinates bus trips, canvassing,phone banking, carpools and VA oriented events

Phone Banking
- will develop a consistent phone banking program

DC Events Coordination
- conducts research on DC area events
- promotes DCFO at DC events used to sign up local supporters

Fundraising
- coordinates fundraisers across the District of Columbia
- oversees donations and financial support of DC for Obama activities

What DC for Obama is/is not

- We are not an arm of the campaign, but rather a grassroots organization
- Members are not paid for their work with the group
- All members have full-time jobs and volunteer their spare time
- We do not have a campaign office
- We do have lots of campaign contacts
- We are one of the strongest grassroots groups in the country
